Opinions differ on whether it is beneficial to make scientific, economic and academic information public, or it is too risky to allow free access to those kinds of knowledge. Personally, I believe that people should have open access to such information and there should not be any restriction.

Nobody can deny that people will benefit significantly by approaching important and valuable information in science, business and academic spheres. First, business information, such as a rise and fall of stock market or data on consumer spending, is immensely useful to investors, business owners and start-up communities, helping them to plan their business and make right investment decisions. Scientific information is helpful for not only scientists and scholars, but also science and technology enterprises, such as bio-tech companies, there are always concerns about the fact that dishonest and illegal behaviours can become more dangerous with the help of higher education. This is understandable because to control the purpose for which the advanced knowledge will serve is nearly impossible in reality. For example, an academic course about fire science will benefit not only prospective arson investigators but also potential arsonists. Indeed, the negative scenarios are always the most concerning ones, thereby making people think it is better to limit the access to important and valuable information.

Limitation to information in science, business and academic studies will have negative impacts on the world’s development and security. Scientific and academic researches rely heavily on available data and previous findings. If such information is not shared openly to academicians and researchers, the continuous progress of science and other academic fields will come to a standstill. Furthermore, stupidity will definitely make people easier to be lured into harmful, aggressive and violent activities which later may drive the societies to the verge of insecurity. The best mediation for this dilemma is to keep sharing specialised information to members of the public together with active law enforcement to maintain social security.

In conclusion, despite the fact that important knowledge related to science, business and academic worlds can be used to serve harmful and illegal activities, I think that it would be better to publicise the information in order to reduce negative outcomes that may arise due to a state of being uninformed.
