The diagram gives information about the steps and equipment involved in the process of manufacturing leather goods. 

Overall, the production has multiple stages, starting from drying animal skins and ending with using the leather to make other products.

At the beginning of the process, the animal hide is hanged out in the air for drying and later the dried skin is  dispatched to a factory for further processing. In the factory, the mixture of water and lime is used to wash away dirt and impurities from the skin. Next, the washed skin is soaked in lime before being flattened by a machine.

At the following stage of the process, the flattened skin is soaked in a substance called 'tannin' which is a mixture of water and vegetable matter. Then, the polishing step takes place in which the leather is polished by a special tool. Once this stage is completed, the processed leather is dispatched to a different factory to produce leather goods, such as shoes, bags, belts.
