The table gives information about the proportion of female and male cyclists broken down into five different age groups in a town in 2011.
Overall, more females rode bicycle than males in all of the age groups given. To both genders, bicycle was the most popular mode of transport to small kids under 9 years old and was the least common to people aged 40 to 59.
More than half of little children under 9 years old in both genders in the town rode bicycle, and the figures for this age group were also the highest out of five age groups given. Female cyclists aged 10 to 17 accounted for around 42%, nearly double the figure for male cyclists in the same age group.
To both genders, bicycle was the least popular means of transport among 40 to 59-year-old females and males, achieving only about 12% and 8% respectively. Around 17% females aged 18 to 39 rode bicycle, whereas males in the same age group made up only under 10%. Senior citizens riding bicycles contributed to around 18% and 13% of female and male population respectively.
